In this paper, we extend The DataTank framework, a data adapter for publishing local Open Data as a Web API, to produce semantic output. A data set and its content are identified by a unique URI, exploiting the REST interface and differentiating between IR and NIR. Also, a data set can be requested as RDF in multiple notations. Furthermore, ontology information can be added to a data model, thus creating machine-understandable RDF. This ontology information is made externally reusable and changeable. The DataTank now produces semantic output, while the original architecture remains unchanged.Property: http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/creatorhttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/rik-van-de-wallehttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/davy-van-deursenhttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/pieter-colpaerthttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/erik-mannenshttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/miel-vander-sandeProperty: http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/subjectData PublishingMultiple formatsRDFOntology mappingOpen DataProperty: http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/titleThe DataTank: an Open Data adapter with semantic outputProperty: http://purl.org/ontology/bibo/authorListhttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/inproceedings/www2012/dev/14/authorListProperty: http://xmlns.com/foaf/0.1/makerhttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/erik-mannenshttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/rik-van-de-wallehttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/davy-van-deursenhttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/miel-vander-sandehttps://w3id.org/scholarlydata/person/pieter-colpaertProperty: https://w3id.org/scholarlydata/ontology/conference-ontology.owl#abstractThe idea of Open Data states that by making data sets freely available on the Internet, data owners can benefit from a huge community.
